The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued multiple recalls last week, including notices for nearly 450,000 General Motors vehicles, including some new-model Escalades and Tahoes, due to an inoperative low brake fluid warning.
Are you looking to see if any recalls were issued on your vehicle? If the car isn't listed below, owners can check USA TODAY’s automotive recall database or search NHTSA’s database for new recalls. The NHTSA website allows you to search for recalls based on your vehicle identification number or VIN.

Kia recalls EV9 for remote smart parking assist failure
Kia is recalling 12,400 of its 2024 EV9 vehicles. In the NHTSA report the automobile manufacturer said that “a software error may cause the remote smart parking assist feature, which allows the operator to remotely move the vehicle, to miscalculate stopping distances.” As a result, a remote smart parking assist feature that miscalculates stopping distances may increase the risk of a crash, the report said.
To fix the issue, dealers will update the integrated electronic brake software for free. Recall notification letters are expected to be delivered by Oct. 18. Owners may contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542. Kia's number for this recall is SC324.

Daimler Truck recall for brake lights that fail to illuminate
Daimler Truck is recalling 16,889 of its vehicles that may be "upfitted with a body lighting interface controller and replacement brake lights," the NHTSA report said. The heavy-duty truck manufacturing company said that the brake lights “may not illuminate when the brakes are automatically applied during an active brake assist event.” Brake lights that fail to illuminate will not properly indicate to drivers that the vehicle is slowing down or stopping. This will increase the risk of a crash, the report said.
To fix the issue, dealers will update the active brake assist software for free. Recall notification letters are expected to be delivered by Nov. 9. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 800-745-8000. DTNA's number for this recall is F1009.

Mavericks for rearview camera freeze
Ford is recalling 144,516 of its 2022-2024 Ford Maverick vehicles that are equipped with a Connected Touch Radio, the NHTSA report issued on Thursday said. The motor company said the “rearview camera image may freeze when the vehicle is in reverse.” When a rearview camera does not operate properly, it can reduce the driver’s visibility and increase the risk of a crash, the report said.
To fix the issue, dealers will update the Connected Touch Radio’s software for free. Recall notification letters are expected to be delivered by Sept. 30. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 24S59.
Recalled vehicles:
- 2022-2024 Ford Maverick
F-150 for parking lights that may flicker
Ford announced that it is also recalling 16,543 of its 2022 F-150 vehicles.
The NHTSA report said, "the vehicle's parking lights may flicker when the headlights are activated.” The report also stated that if a vehicle’s parking lights flicker, it may reduce a driver’s visibility and increase the risk of a crash.
The NHTSA said that the F-150 “fails to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, ‘Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.’”
As a remedy, Ford dealers will replace the LED Driver module. This service will be completed for free. Recall notification letters are expected to be sent on Oct. 7. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 24C30. These vehicles were previously recalled for this same issue under 22V-686 and will need to have the new remedy performed.

For free, dealers will replace a module in the headlight.Recall notification letters are expected to be sent on Oct. 28. Owners can contact GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N242468880.

Escalades and Tahoes due to an inoperative low brake fluid warning
General Motors is recalling 449,671 vehicles, including some new-model Escalades and Tahoes, due to an inoperative low brake fluid warning, which poses a safety issue.
In a recall issued last week by the NHTSA, GM said electronic brake control module software on impacted SUVs and pickup trucks may fail to display a warning light when a loss of brake fluid occurs.
Without a warning light, the vehicle may be driven with low brake fluid, the NHTSA reported, which can reduce braking performance and increase the risk of a crash.
The "Electronic Brake Control Module" software will be updated through an over-the-air update or by a dealer, free of charge.
Notification letters for owners are expected to be mailed by Oct. 28, the NHTSA reported.
Affected owners are asked to contact their local dealership for more information.
